As we experimented with the Mycelium fungus, we created an ornamental block that allows light in and directs it. During our process, we learned that the material is highly sensitive to its environment. Since this project was done in Puerto Rico, we realized that the tropical climate influences the growth of the material and the longevity even after baking it.
We decided to start with an equilateral triangle for modularity. We decided to add the wing to direct the light and finally the apertures for light to go through.
